The Irish folk band Woodwind & Steel presents a happy, atmospheric mix of world-famous Irish, English and American Christmas Carol, spherical Celtic instrumental pieces and fast-paced, thrilling jigs and reels.

Entertainer Ed O'Casey sings and talks with charismatic stage presence and a voice that gets under your skin. At his side the solo flutist and storyteller Ann O'Casey and the young guitar virtuoso Alex Vallon. Together they accompany the audience with German-speaking moderation through this Christmas revue. Interesting, funny and touching stories about traditions and customs on the green island embrace the music and create a Christmas atmosphere.

Five flutes, from the little tin whistle to the big Irish-Wooden-Flute, three guitars, an Irish mandolin, bodhran and accordion, plus two charming voices - with this lush instrumentation Woodwind & Steel shows the whole range of Irish and Scottish folk music: Sonically varied and varied - majestically worn to furious and always virtuoso.
