History of Forced Labour in Marzahn-Hellersdorf
At least thirty forced labour camps were located in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district of Berlin during the Nazi period.
The largest camp, Kaulsdorf-Süd at Kaulsdorfer Straße 90, was where slave labourers from the eastern front were quartered. About 1,400 Russians and Ukrainians, many of them women and children, worked at the site for the German rail ministry. With eight display boards, the open-air exhibition recalls the history of the place and the fates of those forced to work there.
