Strandbad Wannsee in Babylon Berlin

After a fire in 1927, city architect Martin Wagner had an elongated building with changing rooms and kiosks built in the New Objectivity style. The Strandbad Wannsee (Wannsee Lido) complex is now a listed building. The lido is a popular weekend destination in the summer, especially for working-class families who cannot afford a trip to the fashionable Baltic seaside resorts.

In Babylon Berlin, too, two young communists stand in the water here. They seem to look enviously at the neighbouring water sports clubs of the wealthy Berliners. However, appearances are deceptive: the two are convinced National Socialists and seek contact with the housekeeper of Berlin's vice-president of police under the guise of a different political opinion.
