The Music goes Round and Around

What is a country without music? Or a time? Swing was the music of the Great Depression in the 1930s. Desperate people listened to it because it gave hope. And so, in March 2020, Andrei Hermlin and his comrades-in-arms, decided that their music must not die and will not die....

They played on, and they promised never to give up until this crisis is over! Every evening at 7 p.m. sharp, "The Swingin' Hermlins" have been presenting authentic swing from the 1930s for half an hour ever since - in changing small lineups, with friends, with musicians who love Benny Goodman, or Basie, or Miller, or Lunceford. Their daily shows are now followed by thousands of people worldwide on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Now this band, which fills so many people with hope, is giving public concerts again.

The first half hour of the concert will continue to be streamed.

Performers include:

Daniel Duspiwa (sax), Jörg von Nolting (cornett), Lars Juling (tb), James Scannell (cl), Gennadij Desatnik (v), David Hermlin (dr), Andrej Hermlin (p), Jack Latimer (g), Malte Tönissen (b). Vocals: Rachel Hermlin, Jack Latimer and David Hermlin.
