Zebrano-Theater

Chanson meets poetry slam

Chanson meets poetry slam: sometimes it's high culture and sometimes it's cheeky, low-brow culture at Zebrano-Theater.

Tickets

The Zebrano is neighbourhood theatre in its strictest sense. In the small room with red velvet chairs and piano, just two minutes' walk from the Ostkreuz stations, artists and comedians take the stage with their unique Friedrichshain flair. The programme runs the gamut from literature to music, cabaret, stand-up, and readings, sometimes concerts, sometimes chansons. Legendary is Club Genie und Wahnsinn, hosted the first Sunday evening of the month by songwriter Sebastian Krämer. He also runs the reading stage Dienstagspropheten, held once a month on a Tuesday at Zebrano-Theater.

Sunday afternoons belong to the children

In addition to this exciting mix of cabaret, comedy, and chanson for adults, Zebrano-Theater also offers a children's programme of puppet shows, music, acrobatics,  juggling, and classic children's theatre. The pieces are performed by such companies as the well-known Kaspertheater Wunderhorn and Silflay on selected Sundays during the theatre season.

Tickets for children and adults alike are just €4.50. The Zebrano-Theater is just two minutes' walk from the Ostkreuz station, served by the S-Bahn and numerous busses and trams. We recommend using public transport, as there is limited parking in the neighbourhood.

A drink after the show

The Zebrano-Theater also runs the bar with the same name on the corner of Sonntagstraße and Lenbachstraße, the perfect spot to sink into the deep leather furniture and savour a drink before or after the show. The menu also includes light items such as quiche or soup.
