Trees and shrubs surround people everywhere, whether in forests, parks, along roads or in gardens. But which tree species and shrubs are there? What do they look like and what interesting stories can be told about them? How can the native trees be used, which ones are poisonous?

First, the group meets near the Grunewald S-Bahn station. After a brief round of introductions, the group heads off into the forest. The participants look at various shrubs and tree species that they come across.

The group looks at important identification characteristics such as leaf shape, bark, growth form, fruits or even buds. The latter even makes tree identification possible when it is still too early in the year for the herbs.

During the tree tours in Berlin, it is particularly important to the team that all participants take away as much as possible, which is why the tours are limited to 12 people. In addition to a certain basic - species knowledge about woody plants, ecological knowledge is also conveyed, interesting historical and mythological aspects are addressed, so that one can build good mnemonic bridges to retain what has been learned in the long term.
