Van Loon

Along the quay wall of the old Urban harbour

The heart of the Kreuzberg local neighbourhood scene between “Kotti” (Kottbusser Tor) and Graefestraße may be not the first place to look for relaxing spots by the waterside. But they are there! Along the quay wall of the old Urban harbour, built in 1896 to unload coal for the residents of the working-class industrial area of Kreuzberg, the harbour area has today become a green inner-city oasis. The Van Loon (fixed restaurant ship) as well as the launches Philippa and Josephina are anchored here, whereby the latter two are also used for culinary trips on the waterways.
