Chamissoplatz

The charm of old Berlin

Even if life may have been less romantic in narrow and poorly ventilated homes around 1900, today the square in Kreuzberg named "Chamissokiez" by residents is absolutely worth seeing. The stucco facades, cobblestone streets and the courtyards of the imperial apartment buildings are reminiscent of the drawings of Heinrich Zille. Every Saturday, you can also stroll through the weekly market where many products from the region are on offer. To the south is Bergmannstraße with many shopping opportunities that personify the multicultural diversity of Berlin with the wide range of culinary offers.
