Playground in the Volkspark Hasenheide
Stories from 1001 Nights
Ali Baba and Aladdin sit between palms, a camel walks through the sand, the Sultan’s bodyguards guard the entrances to the climbing palaces. The playground in the Hasenheide has been designed with wooden figures from the “1001 Arabian Nights” fairy tale. Here children can travel away on a flying carpet or go on a voyage with the sand play ship. They can spin round on the Smaragden roundabout, climb on a pyramid or dream themselves away to another world in hammocks. There are slides, swings, seesaws, climbing frames and climbing walls as well as a water playground.
The playground is fenced and is suitable for children from one to twelve. There is an animal enclosure not far away where, among others, fallow deer, moor sheep and donkeys can be observed. There has been a petting zoo there since 2008 with geese, ducks, hens, sheep and goats. And the Volkspark Hasenheide also offers lots of space to play – whether football, volleyball or music. Parents and grandparents looking for peace and quiet can stroll through the rose garden and the rhododendron park or relax by a small pond.
