Whether you are looking for a good photo motif or a quiet place to say goodbye to the day, here you will find the most beautiful spots to watch the sunset in Berlin.

Tip 1: Oberbaumbrücke
As a former border crossing between East and West, the Oberbaumbrücke is a symbol for the reunited Berlin and a popular meeting place to let day pass into night. No wonder: the view is breathtaking. Because from here you not only have an unobstructed view of the Spree River, but you can also see the historic centre of Berlin with the Red City Hall. And of course the omnipresent television tower.
Tip 2: Borkenstrand, Rahnsdorf am Müggelsee
With a sunset at the Müggelsee you can dream yourself perfectly into your summer holiday at the beach. Because from the shore of Berlin's largest lake you can see the sun sinking into the water. The Strandbistro Borke serves delicious soups and stews. This is the taste of sunset in Berlin.

Tip 3: From the Television Tower
As the highest vantage point in the city, the television tower naturally offers a really great view over Berlin at sunset. Spoil yourself with a dinner at the revolving restaurant and enjoy the 360 degree view of Berlin. Of course, the TV tower is also the perfect motif for a romantic Berlin photo with an orange-red sky background - for example when you cycle along the Landsberger Alley.
Tip 4: Monkey Bar
Above the roofs of Berlin: Enjoy cocktails and snacks in the Monkey Bar on the 10th floor of the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin. From here you can let your eyes wander over the Kudamm and the Berlin Zoo. A great view, whether during the day or at sunset. Tip: During an evening tour through the Berlin Zoo you can say good night to the animals in the golden evening light.
Tip 5: Brandenburger Tor
It is one of the most important landmarks of the city and a popular photo motif especially at sunset. When the sun has set behind the Quadriga and the six pillars, numerous cafés and restaurants around Pariser Platz invite you to linger. A little further away, but with a view of the water: the restaurant ship PATIO.
Tip 6: Tiki Heart
With a cocktail in your hand you can greet each night in style. In the Tiki Heart near the Görlitz Park you will find the perfect kitschy South Sea ambience. And on balmy summer evenings the beer garden is open until late in the evening.

Tip 7: Wernsdorf near Erkner
Thanks to the good connections with the S-Bahn and regional train, you can get from Berlin to Erkner in a good half hour. This small town in the Oder-Spree district of Brandenburg is the perfect starting point for walks in the surrounding area of Berlin. Finish the trip at the Wernsdorf lake.
Tip 8: Schöneweide
On a day trip to Schöneweide, it's worth staying until sunset. On the one hand, there are lots of exciting things to discover here, such as the former GDR radio station or the industrial architecture in Oberschöneweide. At the Sonnendeck restaurant right on the Spree, you can relax on the longest sun terrace in Köpenick. If you want to enjoy the sunset in complete privacy, you can hire the Achterdeck raft for you and your friends, which is securely moored on the riverbank. Or hire a canoe and paddle towards the sunset?
Tip 9: Berlin-Haselhorst
Another nice destination is Spandau, especially if you are interested in architecture. In the district Berlin-Haselhorst you will find the Reich Research Settlement. Between 1930 and 1935 some quite famous architects experimented here how to create cheap and fast living space. Of course the famous Spandau Citadel is also a beautiful sunset motif. And from the Krienicke Park you have an unobstructed view of the Havel, over the Kleine Eiswerderbrücke you walk to the island of the same name. From the Großer Eiswerderbrücke you can look out over the old town and the old town harbour.
Tip 10: Hakenfelde
And here is a very special insider tip from our community: especially cyclists get their money's worth in Hakenfelde, a district of Spandau. Here, Spandauer Forst with its game reserves, hiking and cycling trails invites you to enjoy leisure sports and relaxation, including the Berlin Wall Trail (Berliner Mauerweg), the Havel Cycle Route and the Berlin-Copenhagen Cycle Route. So there's plenty to do - from sunrise to sunset.
Tip 11: Tempelhofer Feld
On the gigantic open space, which used to be home to an airport, you can see to the end of the horizon. Get on your bike and enjoy the last rays of sunshine as you race across the former runway. You can be sure that a few musicians have gathered somewhere on the field to listen to them while the sky over Berlin slowly turns golden-orange.
