Ermelerhaus

A house with a long history

The Ermelerhaus is a splendid patrician house from the 17th century, which was elaborately rebuilt in the rococo style in the middle of the 18th century. The original building was demolished by the GDR government in the 1960s to expand the government centre. A true-to-the-original new building was erected on the Märkisches Ufer, which was home to one of the few gourmet restaurants in the GDR.
The magnificent building now houses the restaurant of the art'otel Berlin Mitte and was the frequent setting for films and television series.
