An interactive day of remembrance with art, talks and action

As part of a multi-part program, Floating e.V. invites participants to explore the history of the former Tempelhof Airport in the context of its liberation in 1945.

Artistic activities will make the traces of the war visible and provide impetus against forgetting and the one-sided appropriation of historical narratives.

Floating e.V. invites participants to search for traces around Tempelhof Airport

The Floating Kidsuni is aimed at children who will explore their neighborhood together photographically and develop their own exhibition. Their discoveries will be presented and reflected upon together.

A remembrance walk through the Tempelhof suburbs addresses the persecution of various social groups, focusing in particular on the former Columbia concentration camp.

The Office for Neighborhood Networks is working in cooperation with the Floating University's "Learnscapes" program on a memorial landscape: eyewitness accounts will be collected, materials from the neighborhood will be collaged, and made accessible in the form of a memorial map. Interested parties are invited to contribute their own contributions.

A discursive dinner provides space for personal exchange about memories, experiences, and perspectives. The program concludes with a film evening that offers further perspectives on the topic.

At its core is the conviction that memory is a key to understanding the present – and a foundation for democratic action in the future.
