Johann Philipp Krieger worked as court conductor in Weißenfels for 45 years and enriched the court music there with Italian-inspired music that he had previously studied there. The ensemble La Rubina and the soprano Marie Luise Werneburg present selected works by Krieger, who died in 1725, together with compositions by his contemporaries.
