The resources on Earth are almost completely used up and a mysterious disease is bringing all life to a standstill: the streets are littered with plasticized bodies of those who could not escape. Blood flows more slowly through the bodies of the infected and movements become more sluggish as the microscopic plastic in the body closes all pores and brings the organism to a standstill.

The only hope lies on Mars, and in order to find out which of the remaining Earthlings deserve to be saved from plasticization and the sinking Earth, an algorithm has been created by those who already live on Mars. This algorithm is intended to test a selected group of Earthlings for their suitability for one of the few places on the Mars colony. But suddenly the algorithm starts to behave strangely and to make its own thoughts about the Earthlings, their plight and also its mysterious creator.
