The island of Elephantine was an important trading and border center in southern Egypt, where a uniquely diverse multilingual, multicultural and multi-religious population lived. The special exhibition is dedicated to various aspects of this complex society in the form of themed islands.

During the tour, you will learn about the legal forms that existed, how the economy and trade worked, the role that religion and cult played, how family life was structured and the importance of medicine and science.

Immerse yourself in the 4,000-year cultural history of Elephantine!
