Empty walls, no pictures on the walls – instead, around 100 paintings encounter each other in ever-changing constellations. Achim Freyer's exhibition ‘BILDER I Setzen, Stellen, Legen’ is not a static experience, but a dynamic staging. The works are set down, placed or laid down, like actors on a theatre stage.

For the painter, the exhibition becomes an experiment: new combinations are constantly being created, drawing visitors into the action. Touching and browsing are expressly permitted, making this exhibition an exceptionally interactive experience.
The show also serves as a preparation room for more than ten further exhibitions to mark the 90th birthday of the renowned artist and theatre-maker.
Visitors can explore the paintings during the gallery's regular opening hours. On selected dates, Achim Freyer himself or guests invited by him will be on hand.
