Das Chamber Orchestra of Europe (COE) wurde 1981 von einer Gruppe junger Musiker gegründet. Aktuell besteht das COE aus etwa 60 Mitgliedern. Mit mehr als 250 Werken in seiner Diskographie haben die Aufnahmen des COE zahlreiche internationale Preise gewonnen, darunter zwei Grammys und drei Gramophone Record of the Year Awards.
